To celebrate the release of Bobby Fischer Against the World, DCA has teamed up with Castlehill and Dundee & Victoria chess clubs to organise a tournament. The event will be held in the DCA activity room from 16:00 – 18:00 on 15 July, finishing just in time for the first screening of the film.

The tournament is open to anyone who’d like to take part, and if you’d just like to learn more about chess the local experts will be on hand to help. A pair of cinema tickets and a Bobby Fischer Against the World poster signed by grandmaster Nigel Short and CJ de Mooi are up for grabs for the lucky winner.

Bobby Fischer Against the World, screening at DCA from 15 – 21 July, traces the inspiring and tragic life story of chess legend Bobby Fischer. Even for those who know nothing about chess, Liz Garbus’ documentary is a fascinating, gripping study of obsession and genius.
