Congratulations to The Happy Duckling
1 May 2009
The Happy Duckling, which featured at last years Discovery Film Festival has just been awarded the Pulcinella Award for best short film at Cartoons on the Bay, the International Television and Multimedia Festival in Italy. The jury awarded the prize for its clever storytelling and very unique animation.
Written and directed in Dundee by Gili Dolev, with original score by Mick Cooke of Belle and Sebastian, The Happy Duckling follows the antics of a reluctant young boy and the relentlessly happy duck who trails him. It is set in a delightful and surprising pop-up book world where anything can, and does happen.
The film is also officially selected for the 2009 Siggraph Computer Animation Festival in New Orleans in the animated short category.
