DCA Joins Luminate Festival to Celebrate Creative Ageing

2 October 2012

Over the next two weekends, Dundee Contemporary Arts will take part in Luminate, Scotland’s Festival of Creative Ageing. The festival, which is in its first year, aims to highlight inspirational arts activities for or by older people.

On Sat 6 October director Brian Ross will introduce his documentary No One But Me and take part in a Q&A after the screening. The film tells the incredible life story of Scottish jazz singer Annie Ross, from her days as a child star to her time as an internationally renowned singer, lyricist and nightclub impresario. On Sun 7 October there will be a chance to see Ping Pong, an acclaimed documentary about the World Over 80s Table Tennis Championships in Inner Mongolia.

Festival events continue on Sat 13 October with Frank Capra’s black comedy classic Arsenic and Old Lace, before concluding on Sun 14 October with a free gallery tour and workshop where participants will be able to choose from a range of options including print techniques and collage.
