Forthcoming exhibition events

16 November 2011

Torsten Lauschmann's magical, playful exhibition Startle Reaction continues at DCA, with several events taking place in the next week. On Thu 17 November Nicholas Wade, Emeritus Professor of Psychology at the University of Dundee, will give a talk on the border where science meets art. Using a wide range of visual examples from the history of both disciplines, his lively presentation will illuminate elements of Torsten Lauschmann's practice.

The second in our series of Gallery Screenings will take place on Wed 23 November with a screening of Paul Rotha's landmark documentary World of Plenty. This 1943 survey of international food production and distribution uses a range of filming techniques to raise questions that are still relevant today. Also on Wed 23 November, Torsten Lauschmann will give a talk at the University of Dundee, discussing his work and providing insights into the many techniques he adopts in his practice.

Startle Reaction continues until Sun 8 January 2012.
