Turner Prize nominees are no strangers to DCA.

29 April 2009

Nominations for The Turner Prize were announced yesterday including two familiar faces to DCA. Glasgow based artists Richard Wright and Lucy Skaer.

Sculptor and filmmaker Lucy Skaer worked with DCA's Print Studio to produce large scale screen prints (as shown in this picture) for her 2008 exhibition at Edinburgh's Fruitmarket Gallery. Lucy was nominated for this exhibition as well as for her exhibition A Boat Used as a Vessel at the Kunsthalle, Basel.

Richard Wright exhibited at DCA in 2004. Richard produces wall paintings that respond directly to the architecture in which they are created but also exhibited some new works on paper for DCA.

Artists Roger Hiorns and Enrico David are also nominated for the prize and the four artists now have six months to create and install a group show, which will open to the public at Tate Britain in October with the winner to be announced in December.
