You've Been Trumped returns to DCA
5 July 2012
On Fri 13 July we welcome back You’ve Been Trumped, an award-winning documentary about Donald Trump’s Aberdeenshire golf development, which we first showed last August. The screening takes place in the week the controversial course will finally open to the public.
The film charts Trump’s progress as he begins work in an area of Special Scientific Interest and outstanding natural beauty near Aberdeen. The project was initially rejected by the local authority’s planning department, but in an unprecedented move the Scottish Government intervened to give the development the go-ahead. As Trump’s bulldozers spring into action, local homeowners are left to engage in a Local Hero-style refusal to sell their land.
Anthony Baxter, the film's director, will attend the screening and take part in a Q&A afterwards. He said “DCA has been instrumental in bringing our film to a wider audience and I’m delighted to be attending the screening to answer questions from local people about the challenges of taking on Trump, in the very week his troubled golf course opens on what was once one of our country’s last wilderness areas.”
