DCA Community & Education programme aims to:

  • encourage participation and 'have a go' attitude
  • provide opportunities to learn new skills and techniques for making and exploring visual artworks
  • explore how contemporary visual artists/designers/architects/craft makers work
  • generate ideas and opinions
  • value and question those ideas and opinions
  • apply or make a link to personal experience
  • offer a 'quality experience' to all participants
  • link visual art practices within the centre to organisations in Dundee, the region and nationally
  • build long term partnerships with key external organisations, aiding sustainability
  • generate new audiences for contemporary visual art and DCA
  • feed activities/projects and participants' experiences into DCA training and programme development
  • present outcomes, processes and participants via displays, exhibitions, events and seminars and offer opportunities for family/friends and others to share in the experience
