The Guide is introduced by our Head of Cinema, Alice Black:

"Some of our oldest and dearest friends are back! First up, our favourite superhero family is back in Incredibles 2 – it’s been 14 years, but they are just as much fun to be around," says Alice. "We’re also looking forward to returning to a certain sunny Greek island with Meryl Streep in our heart and catchy Abba songs in our heads for Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. Bring on those cocktails (only if age-appropriate of course!) and let’s get ready to sing and dance in the aisles.

"We’re celebrating another cinema milestone – the 60th anniversary of Hitchcock’s masterpiece Vertigo. Re-released in a new 4K print, this is a wonderful chance to experience Kim Novak and Jimmy Stewart in all their technicolour, Bernard Herrmann-scored glory. We’re taking the opportunity to revisit some of our very favourite films from the Master of Suspense in a mini-season that spans his long career from The Lady Vanishes to Frenzy.

"Films which explore artistic creativity and the burden it brings are also a theme in this guide, with documentaries exploring the troubled life of pop star Whitney Houston, and Mark Cousins’ much-anticipated film about Orson Welles. By popular demand, we’ve also brought back McQueen, the astonishing film about fashion designer Alexander Lee McQueen, in case you missed it on its first outing in DCA Cinema.

"Whatever your holiday plans are for the coming months, we hope they are filled with good times, sunshine, and of course, trips to the cinema!"

Thank you, Alice - an utterly sensational new line-up.
