This CD features recordings of a series of pipe organ recitals conceived by Matt Stokes for the exhibition ‘Our Surroundings’ in 2005. The recitals presented experimental transcriptions of original tracks chosen by people from a range of underground music cultures strongly represented within Dundee – Northern Soul, Happy Hardcore and Black Metal. The CD also features a booklet with an essay by Mark Prendergast. The CD and essay were commissioned by Locus+ and Dundee Contemporary Arts.
