Echo + Lindsay Macgregor

Echo is an evening event of multidisciplinary presentations in response to Eve Fowler’s exhibition, with invited guest Lindsay Macgregor.

A longstanding part of the exhibition programme at DCA, Echo is designed to throw new light on the works displayed in our galleries by inviting other artistic voices into the building to react to each show.

As part of this instalment we have invited Scottish poet Lindsay Macgregor to respond to Fowler’s work. Macgregor lives near Cupar, Fife, and co-hosts Platform, a regular poetry and music night at Ladybank Station. In 2015, she received a Scottish Book Trust New Writer’s Award and in 2017, a Hawthornden Fellowship. She reviews poetry collections for Dundee University Review of the Arts (DURA) and her own poems have been published in Dundee Writes, Poetry Review and Poetry Salzburg Review.

Alongside Lindsay’s contribution, we are inviting responses from anyone else who would like to participate. For past events, participants have presented a wide variety of new and existing works that they have made in response to, or think is relevant to, the work/themes in our exhibitions. These have included drawings, sculptures, short films, poetry, text readings, dance, music, and performance. If you would like to share your creative response to the work on show, please submit a short proposal (no more than 300 words) to exhibitions@dca.org.uk by Mon 6 August 2018.
