Adapted from a play by Tennessee Williams, Suddenly, Last Summer has a deliriously brilliant plot, focusing on lobotomy, incest, homosexuality, and cannibalism (it miraculously avoided censorship on its release). Elizabeth Taylor shines as the rebellious heroine Catherine, imprisoned in a mental asylum by her wicked aunt Violet (Katherine Hepburn).
