Pre-Opera talk with Andrew Roger: Rigoletto

Saturday 16th February 2013

Meeting Room

Join us for a pre-opera talk with Andrew Roger, tutor of Opera Appreciation courses at Dundee University.

Andrew will provide an introduction to the evening’s performance, discussing its history, composer, notable productions and key highlights.

"Verdi's Rigoletto is full of energy and has never left the repertoire because the sinister orchestration, the libertine antihero, the guileless heroine, the evil assassin and the tragic jester are so vividly created. Here is one of Verdi's heartbreakingly, tormented central characters, one of the many he wrote for the baritone voice. And if you want hit tunes, look no further - you won't be disappointed !" - Andrew

Tea and coffee will be served. Talk lasts until 30 minutes before the opera is due to start. Tickets are £5 per person – book now on 01382 909900

Time: 16:45 - 17:30
