Small Society Lab: Design for the Prepared Mind Workshop
Thu 28 June
Activity Room
Are you interested in the elusive phenomenon of serendipity and the prepared mind, in everyday life, community, creative practice and research? Serendipity “The faculty of making happy and unexpected discoveries by accident” [OED], and Pasteurs description “In the field of observation, chance favours only the prepared mind.” describe emotion and an open state of mind as important factors in making valuable connections.
We will practically explore stories, experiences, tools and technologies for facilitating serendipity, and build individual experience models for reflection. The workshop will culminate in a shared space for serendipity and strategies to apply that in individual practice or building communities.
Call for: Creative Practioners who are interested in the role that serendipity plays in their practice. Academics and researchers Member of the Public who are interested in the role of serendipity and community.
