The Voice of Hind Rajab

January 29, 2024. Red Crescent volunteers receive an emergency call. A six-year-old girl is trapped in a car under fire in Gaza, pleading for rescue. While trying to keep her on the line, they do everything they can to get an ambulance to her. Her name was Hind Rajab.

This searing docudrama from Oscar-nominated director Kaouther Ben Hania (Four Daughters) combines the real audio recordings of Hind Rajab’s heartbreaking phone calls with scripted recreations of the volunteers desperately trying to coordinate a rescue attempt. Blurring the lines between documentary and fiction, the effect is haunting, upsetting and unforgettable.
