Air Connect Artist Residency Exchange

Open for applications

1 December 2019

AIR CONNECT 2020 is now accepting applications! This six-week Artist Residency Exchange is between Cleveland Print Room (CPR), Cleveland, Ohio and DCA, taking place during spring 2020. The qualified artist should be an emerging or established artist with a focus in photography, or a combined focus using photography with other media such as printmaking or painting. The Ohio artist will reside in Dundee, Scotland and the Scottish artist will reside in Cleveland, Ohio. The work will focus on a special project in CPR’s Northeast Ohio community darkroom and gallery or with us at DCA in Dundee.

The Ohio artist will create work in our Print Studio. In exchange, the resident artist and DCA will arrange a plan for the artist to exhibit locally and/or edition work on-site the Print Studio. The artist will receive a flat rate for a stipend to personally secure flight and accomodations, along with full access to our Print Studio throughout the residency with reasonable materials included.

The Scottish artist will also receive a flat rate stipend of $2000 USD to cover flight and accommodations. They will engage the community, have free and full access to CPR’s facilities as well as a reasonable amount of materials and supplies, and have the opportunity to exhibit artwork at the conclusion of the residency.

This exchange programme between Cleveland and Dundee is geared towards providing studio space to emerging and established artists, and encourages understanding across cultures, creating ties between US artists and communities and their counterparts in Scotland.
