Discovery Short of the Week 11

Fuga Animada

10 June 2020

This week's Discovery short film tells the tale of an illustrated character who is determined to escape the drawing board!

DCA's Discovery Film Festival producer Mike Tait says:

"We love all kinds of animated films here at Discovery, and this little gem of a film we screened during our 2015 edition brings together several different types of animation in one thrilling masterclass."

Once you've watched the film, download our activity sheets, with some information about animation and a flick book activity to try. These activities were originally developed for our school resource pack by Helen Appleyard. You'll notice that the link for the flick book template is no longer active, so we've added an alternative link below too.

Into Film's Introduction to Stop Motion Animation (free signup required) has templates for a flick book and thaumatrope on pages 11-12

We'd love to hear what you think and see your flick books! Use the hashtag #DCAMakes to share on Twitter, Instagram, or on our fab Discovery: Families at DCA Facebook page. We'll see you again next Wednesday with another Discovery Short of the Week.
