Here's some more about this week's films from Alice Black, our Head of Cinema:

Satellite broadcasts and recorded Q&As certainly give us a chance to connect with artists from further afield. Still, nothing beats being able to connect a filmmaker with our very own audience in Dundee. While numbers for our Scottish Encounters screening of Limbo with filmmaker Ben Sharrock on Sun 19 July will be smaller than usual and 2m+ apart. However, we know the welcome you’ll bring to this special screening of a unique, quirky Scottish film will be just as warm and enthusiastic as ever.

Our film programme this week is as eclectic as ever! Playing alongside the excellent Limbo, Scarlett Johansson takes centre stage in Black Widow. We have an epic Jack London novel transposed to Italy with Martin Eden, and the French black comedy Deerskin. Starring Jean Dujardin (The Artist), it’s the story of a man driven to murder by an unusual love affair... with his suede jacket. Hands down one of the strangest films of the year!

Any fans of The Sparks Brothers out there? Snap up your tickets for our preview of Edgar Wright’s brilliant new documentary about the genius duo!

Visit our Films page for full details and showtimes, plus a peek at what's coming up next week, including The Croods 2, Summer of Soul and more.
