Hlynur Pálmason

We're thrilled to support the online release of the new Icelandic thriller A White, White Day from Friday 3 July. Even better, when you stream this award-winning film via our special link below, DCA receives some revenue from your purchase – just as we would if you bought a cinema ticket at our Box Office.

Written and directed by Hlynur Pálmason, A White, White Day is a gripping drama that follows an off-duty police chief who suspects a local man of having had an affair with his late wife. Gradually his quest to uncover the truth becomes a dangerous obsession that threatens the safety of himself and his family.

Pálmason describes his film as a story about love:

"For me, A White, White Day is about two kinds of love. Love that you have for your children or grandchildren, which is simple, pure and unconditional, and then another kind of love – a love you have for your partner, your lover. That is something completely different, it’s more complex, intimate, animalistic…"

Alice, our Head of Cinema, adds that A White, White Day is one of the cinema team's "favourite films of the year"; we can't wait for you to see it.
