We need your support

A message from Beth Bate, Director of DCA

5 August 2020

For over 21 years, DCA has been a cornerstone of the cultural and social life of Dundee, with more than 400,000 visitors a year enjoying our films, exhibitions, print studio, learning activities, shop and Jute Café Bar.

This autumn, we are asking for your support to help DCA weather the impact of Covid-19: we need to raise £150,000 this year to make up for lost income, allowing us to continue bringing our rich and varied programme to audiences from Dundee, Scotland and beyond.

It is quick and easy to donate here

Throughout this closure period, we've worked hard to look after our team and keep connecting with our audiences. You may have been one of the many people who have enjoyed our Film Club, our Exhibitions Reading Group, our Monday Makes creative activities or our Discovery Short of the Week online. Or you may have seen the work we've been doing in communities, from delivering art bags to families, to sharing drawings by children with older people through Dundee Pensioners' Forum.

Now, as we reopen our doors after nearly six months of closure, we find ourselves facing many challenges: from the costs of making sure the building is safe to a huge reduction in the number of people we can welcome to each part of our programme. Our earned income will be limited just as the costs of reopening are going up. We need the support of our audiences - the people who know and love DCA - to sustain us through this difficult period so we can keep enriching people’s lives through art, culture and creativity.

Beth Bate
Director
