See, think, make, do…drop in and have a go.

DCA Create Space is a flexible, comfortable and imaginative space; a space in which people of all ages can play, learn, create and relax. It is located on ground level, right next to the main galleries and open from 10:00 – 18:00 daily while there’s an exhibition on in our galleries.

Entrance to Create Space can be found on ground level beside the lift and Information Space

Create space is constantly changing, with new themes designed to work with an exhibition, a particular festival or event. We always have a small library of children’s books relating to what’s happening in our galleries, as well as drawing tasks, pens and pencils. With large sofas backing onto our floor to ceiling windows it’s a great place to relax and watch the world go by.

Our Create Space is open to the public during gallery opening hours (10:00 – 18:00), except when it might be being used for a special workshop, event or forum. If you would like to check in advance, contact our Box Office who will be able to assist you.

For group visits the room can be booked to extend the experience of viewing an exhibition or film. The room can seat up to 30 and provides materials, hands-on activities and a library aimed at children. If you’d like to find out more about this, please contact have a look at our School and Group Visits page.
