Discovery Shorts: Animal Antics

Discovery Family Film Club

As we welcome audiences back into DCA, we thought it a perfect time to revisit some our favourite shorts from last year’s Discovery Film Festival – a chance to revisit old friends, and also as a taster for what is to come in Discovery 2020.

We’ve created two short film collections, each lasting about thirty minutes, which we will be screening over the coming weekends. We hope you’ll be excited to come back into the world of big screen entertainment, and enjoy these wee variety packs of animated fun!

“enjoy these wee variety packs of animated fun… at very special ticket prices”

This is our first collection – Animal Antics! An overweight lion (post-lockdown?) needs to get back into shape, a late-developing tadpole does things at his own speed and a big brown bear sings of his love for his favourite footwear…

Whether you saw some of them last year, or if this is your first time, don’t miss this chance to see these very special collections of the best of the fest.

Lion, 2017, dir. Julia Ocker, Germany (3'37") - no dialogue

Sneakers, 2019, dir. Sandy Boynton, USA (3'12") - in English

When you’re booking your cinema ticket you’ll notice the cinema has been divided into ‘bubbles’ of one or two in order to maintain social distancing. You won’t be able to book part of a bubble, but you can book more than one: for instance a group of four can book two bubbles of two.

If you can’t find a combination of seats that suits your group please get in touch and we’ll try to help, although capacity is very limited in all screenings. We’re working on a more flexible seating plan that we hope to be able to roll out very soon.
