Dundead: Give Me Pity! + short film

Amanda Kramer

The films of cult filmmaker Amanda Kramer (LadyworldPlease Baby Please) are some of the most interesting and formally daring genre films being made in America today and Give Me Pity! is just as bold as her other films. Almost entirely a one-woman show, it takes the form of a gloriously 80s TV special, with a spellbinding central performance by Sophie Von Haselberg (daughter of Bette Midler) as host Sissy St Claire. Be prepared for lots of hair, lots of ego and lots of disco.

Sissy St Claire graces the small screen for her first-ever TV special, an evening full of music and laughter, glamour and entertainment! But the live show quickly begins to curdle into a psychedelic nightmare of vanity, insecurity, and delusional ambition provoked by the glowering presence of a mysterious masked man.

This screening will be preceded by the Scottish premiere of a short film. Tooth is a short, sharp, and blood-soaked film from filmmaker Jillian Corsie that finds a hugely entertaining middle-ground between David Cronenberg and Joe Dante.
