School's Out
(L’Heure de la sortie)

Sébastien Marnier

"As enigmatic as the creepy students at its core..."

When a high school teacher throws himself from a classroom window, his students are terrified - save for six individuals, who remain oddly cool and unemotional. The new substitute teacher Pierre (Laurent Lafitte), notices the hostile behaviour of this close-knit clique. Smart and precocious, the six teenagers seem involved in a mysterious plan, and Pierre is soon sucked into their sinister game. His life turns into a nightmare as the separation and misunderstanding between the generations intensifies.

Cleverly flirting with genre conventions, without ever truly becoming a horror film, Sébastien Marnier’s elusive and disquieting debut is as enigmatic as the creepy students at its core. Impeccably performed and shot with careful precision, this is one of those films that truly gets under your skin.
