The Most Wonderful Evening of My Life
(La piĆ¹ bella serata della mia vita)

Etorre Scola

The Most Wonderful Evening of My Life is one of the most wonderful of Ettore Scola’s films, featuring a dream cast in a pitch perfect adaptation of the Friedrich Durrenmatt novel A Dangerous Game.

Alberto Sordi’s genial, easygoing Alfredo breaks down in the Swiss mountains and seeks help at a nearby castle. There he meets four retired judges who beg him to indulge them and play the accused in a mock trial that is being staged. The fun and games quickly turn deadly serious in this gem of a film with echoes of the Agatha Christie classic And Then There Were None.
