University of Dundee 50th Anniversary Weekend – The University on Screen

This year marks 50 years since the University of Dundee became an independent institution, and as part of a special weekend of celebrations, the University’s Archives and Museums are joining forces with DCA to present a special screening of rarely seen films made about the University in decades past.

From biology expeditions in the 1930s to Stephen Fry’s installation as Rector in the 1990s, we present a fascinating glimpse into the various activities that make up University life in Dundee. The centrepiece will be a unique 16mm promotional film from 1977 called Live and Learn in Tayside.

Were you a student here at that time? You might just spot a groovier (or at least hairier) version of yourself!

This event is free but ticketed.
