Primary Teacher Training Twilights: Film and Screen Curriculum

Duration: Four-week course
Dates: Tue 26 May 16:00 - Tue 16 Jun 2026 18:00
Location: Digital Suite

Screen Scotland are funding a programme of introductory training for primary school teachers delivered by one of Screen Scotland's specialist screen educators, Yasmin Al-Hadithi.

Screen Scotland, in partnership with Education Scotland and Scottish Government, launched a national rollout of the  Film & Screen curriculum as an expressive arts subject within the Curriculum for Excellence in September 2025. These sessions are an opportunity to get to grips with the curriculum and see how it can be delivered in your school practically.

The four sessions will lead you through useful film education frameworks, great classroom activities and key resources that you can take away and use in school the next day.

We will also use short films and resources from Discovery Film Festival - a brilliant way to prepare for the festival which returns in the autumn with free school tickets again this year.
