IberoDocs – Scotland’s Ibero-American Documentary Film Festival – goes on tour for its 12th edition, bringing powerful documentaries to Oban, Dundee and Aberfeldy. Created by Ibero-American filmmakers, these documentaries connect global perspectives with local challenges, inviting us to reflect on our shared relationship with the sea.

The films in The Sea programme explore the ways in which we relate and understand each other. The sea witnesses a disintegrating community in Drop by Drop by Alexandra Ramires and Laura Gonçalves, a conversation between a father and his unborn daughter in Esperando a Marby Jorge Peña, a poetic journey across the Portuguese coastline in Sweet and Salty by Carmen Tofeni and a discussion about what remains in Dust is a Whale, it is sunlight by María Casas Castillo.

In the short films the intimate depth of an encounter is revealed by the sea, which brings it right above the surface and toward the cinema screen.
