Dundead: Dead Lover (Stink-O-Vision)

This is not an April Fool's trick - Dead Lover will be presented in Stink-O-Vision, with scratch and sniff cards available at the screening.

Regular Dundead attenders should be familiar with Grace Glowicki, a Canadian filmmaker and actor who has appeared on our screens in recent years in Booger and our 2025 Halloween surprise screening Honey Bunch. Here she steps behind the camera for a thoroughly bizarre and unabashedly kinky comedy, proudly presented in Stink-O-Vision with exclusive scratch and sniff cards. 

A lonely gravedigger who stinks of corpses (Glowicki, with a deliberately implausible Mockney accent) finally meets her dream man (played by her real-life husband and frequent collaborator Ben Petrie) – but their romance is cut short when he tragically drowns at sea. Grief-stricken, the gravedigger goes to morbid lengths to resurrect him through madcap scientific experiments, resulting in grave consequences and unlikely love.

The film feels at times like a very strange acting workshop or theatre piece. Shot entirely on evocative 16mm on a soundstage with lurid lighting and a cast of only four actors who all play multiple characters, it is a film which revels in its artifice, while coyly playing with ideas of sexuality and gender. It’s totally bonkers and another striking display of Glowicki’s talents.
