Buffet Infinity (UK Premiere)

Duration: 1h55m
Dates: Sat 9 May 2026 18:15

Part of Dundead Film Festival 2026. DCA Supporters, Members and 18-25 Members get early access to tickets and passes (log in to access) with the festival opening for general sale on Fri 27 March at 10:00.

Buffet Infinity is unlike anything else you’ll see this (or any other) year.

It is a totally unique film which takes the form of a string of advertisements as though broadcast on local network TV. As the film flicks between these adverts, a narrative starts to emerge.

To say more would risk ruining some of the turns this film takes, but what we can tell you is this is hilarious, off-kilter and completely original. Horror influences can be drawn; Cronenberg’s Videodrome is an obvious pick whenever something plays with the language of television in this way, but writer/director Simon Glassman and co-writers Allison Bench and Elisia Snyder take it to new, bizarre places.

At times this feels like the kind of thing you’d find in the early days of YouTube, and the constant flicking between scenarios, adverts and news footage can also feel like the much-missed Vine and the way that we all consume media and news footage on our phones today.

We’ve screened a few films from Canada in recent years, and there really seems to be a breadth of culty and decidedly weird cinema coming from over there. Buffet Infinity is a great new addition to a robust national canon.
