The Marbles + Q&A

Duration: 1h53m + 30m Q&A
Dates: Wed 18 Feb 2026 19:30

Join us for a post-screening Q&A with Neil Curtis, hosted by Dr Lisa McDonald (Lecturer in Museum and Heritage Studies, University of St Andrews).

The Marbles is the explosive new documentary uncovering the world’s greatest art heist—the stealing/removal of the Parthenon Marbles—and the global fight to bring them home. From ancient theft to modern-day resistance, this is a story of empire, identity, and justice.

Neil is Head of Museums and Special Collections and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Social Science at the University of Aberdeen. He teaches across a range of subjects including Archaeology, Anthropology, Art History, Museums, and Law. His published research encompasses repatriation, decolonisation and ethics, the history of museums, and exhibitions in Scotland. Neil is a Fellow of the Museums Association, a member of the Scottish Museums Recognition Committee and a member of the Reviewing Committee on the Export of Works of Art at Arts Council England.
