Notes From Sheepland
This film contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.
Dive into the world of Irish visual artist and shepherd, Orla Barry. Running a flock of pedigree sheep started as a way to earn a living, but now, alongside her art she’s been a decade in sheep and she wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
Notes From Sheepland bursts with candid observations of lipstick- wearing, always swearing, no- nonsense, artist and shepherd, Orla. Through her fields, her digital diaries, and the pedigree sheep she cares for, we discover how the art is in the doing. Director Cara Holmes has created a playful, thoughtful portrait teeming with indelible images and ideas, and grounded in Orla’s rural Irish landscape.
