Ciné Sunday: The Teacher
A Palestinian school teacher (Saleh Bakri) struggles to reconcile his risky commitment to political resistance with his emotional support for one of his students (Muhammad Abed El Rahman) and the chance of a new relationship with a volunteer worker (Imogen Poots).
The film was shot entirely in Palestine, particularly in Nablus (a city twinned with Dundee), and has been described by critics as a ‘passionate’ and ‘riveting’ debut feature by Farah Nabulsi.
