Meet the Artist: France-Lise McGurn
Join us for our Meet the Artist event to hear exhibiting artist France-Lise McGurn in conversation with writer John Douglas Millar. They will discuss the ideas, themes and inspirations behind McGurn’s exhibition The Charm Offensive.
Millar and McGurn co-curated a group show, I only have Apple Juice, which opened at McGurn’s home and exhibition space Bonny Don’t Live at Home in Glasgow earlier this year.
John Douglas Millar is a Scottish writer based in London. He is currently working on a biography of the photographer Peter Hujar to be published by Fitzcarraldo Editions in the UK, and Norton/Liveright in the US in 2030. In 2025 he co-curated the exhibition Peter Hujar: Eyes Open In The Dark with Gary Schneider at London's Raven Row Gallery (travelling to the Bundeskunsthalle, Bonn, February 2026). He is currently working on an exhibition of the painter Paul Becker's work to open at Sans Titre, Paris, in September 2026.
