Fatherland

At the height of the Cold War, Fatherland centers on the relationship between the writer Thomas Mann and his daughter Erika—actress, writer and rally driver—as they embark on a road trip in a black Buick cruiser across a Germany in ruins, from U.S. dominated Frankfurt to Soviet controlled Weimar.

Paweł Pawlikowski (Cold War, Ida) won the Best Director award at this year's Cannes Film Festival for this striking drama set in a time of conflict, starring the incredible Sandra Hüller (Project Hail Mary, Anatomy of a Fall, Toni Erdmann) and veteran character actor Hanns Zischler (Munich, Kings of the Road, Clouds of Sils Maria).
