Experimental Relief Etch Printing

Duration: Weekend course
Dates: Sat 14 Feb 10:30 - Sun 15 Feb 2026 17:30
Location: Print Studio

Explore lino etching, a versatile and painterly printmaking technique.

You'll learn how to create gestural marks, tonal gradients and textures on lino, while combining traditional cutting techniques for a dynamic and layered approach.

Experiment with various tools and methods, including caustic soda paste for etching, as well as using precision tools like the Dremel and lino carving gauges.

The course will also cover key skills such as registration and multi-block printing, enabling you to create complex, multi-layered prints.

Thank you so much for a fantastic workshop - fabulous techniques. So many directions and possibilities now for my printmaking practice.

Fantastic couple of days with Anupa learning a range of techniques with lino. I loved the opportunity to try the etching, great explanations, encouragement and atmosphere in the class.
