Selection of hardcover books

Hardcover Bookbinding

Duration: Four-week evening class
Dates: Thu 23 Oct 18:00 - Thu 20 Nov 2025 20:30
Location: Print Studio

Learn how to combine paper, thread, board and colourful book cloth to create beautiful hardcover books.

You'll make a professionally finished book while learning about different materials and methods of bookbinding. Starting with folding paper to create gatherings and sewing these together to create a book block, you'll then make a hardcover case from millboard and cover it with cloth. Finally, the two parts will be brought together to create your hardcover book. Keep your creation as a journal or scrapbook, or give it as a gift.

Really enjoyed making a 'proper' book and learning new techniques. Emma's classes are always very enjoyable and it is great to learn the correct way to assemble things.

Emma is a fantastic teacher and her classes are great fun.
