Shorts for Wee Ones 2025

Duration: 45min

Always a popular feature of any Discovery Film Festival, this collection of seven short films for our youngest viewers is sure to delight and amuse. We’ve gathered a variety of stories and styles from around the world – this year featuring films from Belgium, The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Canada, Uruguay and Switzerland.

Featuring curious capybaras, chef mushrooms, colourful  cells, woodland animals, an affectionate (and very hungry) crocodile, a voiceless cockerel, and a little girl who best communicates through drawings.

The films in this programme focus on friendship and accepting difference, as well as promoting cooperation and understanding.

These magical tales will delight children age 3+ and are a colourful introduction to the cinema experience as well as moving image literacy. If you’re not quite sure how these films can be used in your classroom, please do have a look at the accompanying resource packs written for teachers by teachers and free to download below.
