Homing: Navigating Landscapes in Virtual Reality
Free, drop-in
Join us to experience two artistic journeys in Virtual Reality (VR), exploring landscapes, mindfulness, and belonging.
Monoliths (produced by Pilot Theatre) interweaves radiant renderings of three northern UK environments – a moor, a city and a coast – with sweeping soundscapes and poetic monologues by Hannah Davies, Carmen Marcus and Asma Elbadawi. Their stories and origins are tied to the landscape where they come from and have grown up.
Planetaria is a brand new VR experience created by Louise Jamieson, a recent graduate of Abertay University’s Computer Arts programme. Designed for use in therapeutic settings, Planetaria imagines a walkable garden on another planet in which the flora and fauna move within a gravity different from our own. The dreamlike ambient soundtrack and lavender-toned hues invite the user to explore the garden at their own pace, taking a moment to relax as the landscape unfolds around them.
