Relaxed: Alice in Wonderland (1951)
Explore the extraordinary and everyday world of gardens in a specially curated series of films, screening in collaboration with V&A Dundee's major exhibition, Garden Futures: Designing in Nature.
It’s a golden summer day and Alice is getting bored in her history lesson. Suddenly, she sees a White Rabbit, wearing a waistcoat and carrying a pocket watch, hurrying through the countryside, shouting “I’m late!”. Without a second thought, Alice follows him through a rabbit hole into a strange new world, full of wacky characters and plenty of nonsense, called Wonderland.
Of the many film adaptations of Lewis Carroll’s classic children’s story, this is perhaps the most memorable. One of Disney’s earliest animations, Alice in Wonderland is rich in vibrant colours, musical moments, and amusing stories. A timeless and much-loved film for all the family to enjoy.
