Lauren Gault on the Echo myth

In bone stone voice alone, Lauren Gault uses the mythological figure of Echo to investigate the land of Tayside and beyond.

The artworks draw on the Echo myth's process of transformation, as her bones turned to stone, the transformation continuing until all that remained was her voice. In the exhibition, Echo becomes a metaphor for censorship of speech whilst acknowledging the many voices resonant in the land.
