Family Activity at DCA

We host many fun activities for all ages at DCA, from film screenings and workshops, to free creative activities and online resources. To make it as easy as possible for you to plan your family trip, our monthly calendar brings everything together in one place.

The school holidays are almost here and we've made sure they're full of fun family films and creative activities. Even better, we've made all kids tickets £5 for the summer! Our cinema screens are packed with movie magic, from Song of the Sea for Discovery Family Film Club to big new releases like Toy Story 5, Minions & Monsters, Supergirl and Moana.

Create Space will have activities inspired by the films in the cinema, as well as activity sheets exploring the themes in our exhibitions: Adrián Balseca: In the Forest Ruins and Francis Dosoo: Portrait of Dorothy Gale. Our Summer Drop-in provides time to make with the help of our Learning team and Family Art Lab allows you to create together as a family. Messy Play will be taking a break for July and August, and Breast Buddies will meet on Thu 2 July before pausing over the summer holidays and returning to Create Space mid-August.

If you're coming along to DCA to enjoy some family activity, don't forget that you can extend your visit with lunch in Jute Café Bar (their summer children's menu features some familiar faces for wee ones to colour in, plus tasty options for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert and reduced prices!) and a trip to our shop, which stocks some great toys, books and pocket money friendly games.
