Family Activity at DCA

We host many fun activities for all ages at DCA, from film screenings and workshops, to free creative activities and online resources. To make it as easy as possible for you to plan your family trip, our monthly calendar brings everything together in one place.

We've packed October with family fun at DCA. There's our usual Messy Play and Family Art Lab sessions, plus Soundplay Projects are back and Create Space is filled with activities inspired by our current exhibition France-Lise McGurn: The Charm Offensive.

We've filled our screens with animation for the school holidays. Join us for our Aardman season celebrating 50 years of clay, including new release Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom alongside classic claymation with Chicken Run, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Flushed Away and more! For anime fans, there's also a 4K restoration of Studio Ghibli's Whisper of the Heart which we're screening in both English Dub and Subtitled.

On top of all that, the end of the month sees the beginning of Discovery Film Festival. Starting on Sat 31 October, Discovery brings the best family films from around the world to Dundee along with creative activities and workshops. Tickets for all events are Donate What You Can, from £0 to £8.

If you're coming along to DCA to enjoy some family fun, don't forget that you can extend your visit with lunch in Jute Café Bar and a trip to our shop, which stocks some great toys, books and pocket money friendly games.
