Games Wanted for Drop in and Play at DCA

Deadline: Sun 14 December

We’re delighted to announce that our popular gaming event, Drop in and Play, is returning to DCA in January 2026 in partnership with Ninja Kiwi and UK Games Fund - and we're looking for games to showcase!

Taking place on Sat 24 January from 12:30 - 15:30, visitors will have the chance to play a range of games before they’re widely available, meet game developers, and share their reactions.

For the event, we’re looking for new and unreleased games made in Scotland, and in particular Dundee. Games must be a finished product or a playable prototype and must be suitable for children and young people.

Applications from individuals, students and small studios are all welcomed: applicants will be expected to supply the computer or device needed to demonstrate their projects. Developers who have previously showcased a game at Drop in and Play may also apply to return.

Drop in and Play provides a great opportunity for game developers to showcase their work to the public, gather feedback on their games, meet other developers and gain publicity through a range of marketing activities.

Developers interested in taking part should send an email to [javascript protected email address] by Sun 14 December, including the following information:

  • Name and/or studio name
  • A short description of their game and the intended target age group/audience
  • Links to any relevant resources
  • Social media handle/website (if available)

Drop in and Play is a free DCA gaming event which was first held in November 2012 as part of NEoN Digital Arts Festival and Discovery Film Festival. Our January event is presented in partnership with Ninja Kiwi who have been making awesome games since 2005. Developers of the hit Bloons series of games, Ninja Kiwi are always striving to make the most enjoyable experiences for audiences across the globe from their offices in Dundee, Scotland and Auckland, New Zealand.

Drop in and Play is delivered alongside UK Games Fund. UKGF is run by UK Games Talent and Finance Community Interest Company. UKGTF is a non-profit organisation with the remit to support the UK’s early stage games development and digital interactive business and creative ecosystem in terms of both companies and individuals.
