Learning Resources
DCA Learning team works with colleagues, artists and external partners to design and deliver a wide range of creative learning experiences that connect both new and existing audiences with contemporary art practice. We focus particularly on making skills and critical engagement.
For any enquiries or requests for help with CLPL, activities and further resources please contact DCA Learning team at learning@dca.org.uk
Online Resources
When our building was closed due to lockdown restrictions, our Learning team worked hard to produce online resources to help children and families learn, get creative and have fun at home. We've also shared some of our favourite resources from Discovery Film Festival and Art at the Start. Here we bring them all together for easy access, whether you're looking for ideas for homeschooling or just want enjoy some creative time at home.
Monday Makes
Keep your creativity flowing with our step-by-step guides and video tutorials. Have a go at stop-motion animation, create a magical mobile, imagine being a world leader and much more. Take a look through our collection here.
Activity Sheets
We have a great selection of quick and easy activity sheets for you to download. Print them off at home or if you don't have access to a printer, you can copy them onto a blank piece of paper. Design a sculpture, create a character, make your own coat of arms and lots more - browse them here.
We also share activity sheets inspired by our exhibitions. Take a look and try them at home:

Discovery Short of the Week
For our smallest film fans there's our Discovery Short of the Week. Watch some of our favourite short films from Discovery Film Festival with your little ones and then join in with activities created by teachers. There are funky songs, colourful characters, hungry animals and so much more - take a look here.
Art at the Start
This collaborative PhD between our Learning team and the University of Dundee's Psychology department asks the question of 'what happens when we make art together?'. Art Psychotherapist Vicky Armstrong has created a number of activity sheets designed for children aged 0-3 years. You can also find lots more fun and messy activites on the Art at the Start website.
Share your creativity
If you give any of our makes or activites a go at home, we'd love to see and share the results - share them with us on social media using #DCAmakes or email your photos to dca@dca.org.uk.
Offline Activity
As well as providing online resources, we've also worked with local organisations to help provide resources and activities for local children and families. Find out more about our Family Art Bags here and read about how Art at the Start adapted during lockdown here.
If you're able to, we'd be so grateful if you'd consider donating to help us keep enriching people's lives through art, culture and creativity. Thank you!
