Selection of baskets made from fabric scraps

Craft Sunday: Upcycled Fabric Baskets with Eilidh Weir

Duration: 5h
Dates: Sun 24 Aug 2025 12:00 - 17:00
Location: Meeting Room

Join artist Eilidh Weir and learn how to make a practical and beautiful coiled basket from fabric, recycled materials and thread!

Using textiles such as old clothes and sewing scraps, plus fillings like plastic bags or salvaged rope, we’ll wrap and coil these forms, stitching them together to create sturdy, useful vessels for around your home. Make a fruit bowl, a plant pot or a mat and go home with the skills to give all your old scraps a new lease of life.

Feel free to bring along old garments, textiles or climbing rope, otherwise all materials will be provided. There will be plenty of tea, coffee and sweet treats to help fuel your making throughout the afternoon.
