Riso Printing (Beginners)

Duration: Two-week evening course
Dates: Thu 16 Jul 18:00 - Thu 23 Jul 2026 20:30
Location: Print Studio

Learn all about the wonderful world of Risograph printing and create multilayered prints.

‘Riso’ is a fast-paced process that uses soy based inks and recycled paper. This course is perfect for using hand drawn techniques and collage to create richly coloured multi-layered prints.

You'll learn how to prepare your design by using collage, drawing, and painting in colour-separated layers. Then you'll print your design by choosing from our selection of bright colours.

I had a great time. It offered a low stress way to learn a unique technique and I'm excited to visit again to flex my knowledge.

Need to know

  • What to bring

It’s best to come with an idea of what you’d like to make. Bring along a selection of your work you’d like to work with, e.g. sketchbooks, photos, paintings. We won’t be working with digital files.

  • What to wear

We'll provide aprons and gloves but recommend wearing old clothes as printmaking can be messy. Please note that open-toed footwear and sandals are not allowed.

  • Food & drinks

A sealed water flask or drinking vessel is permitted but other food and drinks are not allowed in the studio.
