Selechtion of small and large brushes with different coloured thread

Craft Sunday: Brush Making with The Bumbling Basketeer

Duration: 2h
Dates: Sun 18 Jan 2026
Location: Meeting Room

Join Simon Cooper, otherwise known as The Bumbling Basketeer, for a relaxed workshop exploring the craft of brush making.

Using natural Tampico or Arenga fibres alongside colourful nylon thread, learn how to create a set of three functional brushes to take home with you.

Enjoy a gentle and mindful introduction to working with natural material in this workshop which combines traditional techniques with modern colour and creativity. The colourful thread adds strength and personality to each piece, making every brush unique. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided to help fuel your making.

Please note that this workshop is done barefoot — an important part of the process that gives better control over the tension and unwinding of the thread as it’s wound tightly around the brush handle.
