Passionate about the idea of flying, a tiny papaya seed struggles to conform to what’s expected of her and earn her mother’s pride. Her curiosity and uncontrollable desire for freedom make her different from other seeds and when she realises that her destiny is to become a tree, she rebels. 

Fighting against her nature, Papaya stays in constant motion to avoid rooting. On her journey away from the mother tree, she learns a great deal about the creatures of the forest, travelling to a strange industrial world. Through perseverance, she discovers the power of her roots, connecting life through deep and mysterious paths, and triggering a major revolution which transforms her environment, making her dreams come true in an unexpected way.
