Soft Ground Etching with Feathers
Duration: One-day workshop
Dates: Sat 5 Sep 2026 10:30 - 16:00
Location: Print Studio
Bring a feather and use it to create an edition of beautiful prints.
Whether you have some knowledge of etching or you’re a complete beginner, this lo-fi method of printmaking is fun and creates great results. You will learn how to prepare small zinc plates for the soft ground etching technique and then use it to create feather prints with a variety of deckled edged papers, inks and ‘Chine Colle’.
Soft Ground Etching is one of the best classes I've done at DCA.
