Ernesto Neto

29 July - 10 September 2000

Ernesto Neto is a Brazilian artist whose recent works appear as ethereal, abstract sculptures, occupying an area between the architectural and the organic. This exciting new exhibition at DCA includes a work made especially for the small gallery, and Neto’s largest “nave”, a room-like environment made of white, translucent lycra material, which yields and changes shape as people move inside. Both the sculpture and the viewer become performing bodies.
